    We’re looking for a personalized save the date magnet for our wedding this coming January, our theme is a rustic, abstract winter theme, our color are champagne and deep red. My wedding dress is made of brocade and damask… would like the magnets to match my dress, also using calla lilies– do note that my husbands a horse racing fan, so some horse elements would be a fantastic addition. We are wedding in Alabama, but we live in San Bernardino, California, so you’d be shipping there.. how do we go about getting a sample?

      Hello Dawn, fantastic that you like the samples. We get a lot of feedback that our magnet’s presentation, quality and thickness is better than all the competitions. We actually had a customer perform a “water test” on our magnets whereby she took samples received from Magnet Street, New & Blue, A Giftful Heart and Totally Wedding Magnets and a few others… she placed all the samples in water, including ours, left them there for 30 seconds, then removed them and dried them,etc… She said our magnets were the only magnets that passed this test by drying quickly without ink running, wrinkling, warping, etc. We were extremely amazed by the effort this customer put forth in her search of a good quality magnet, needless to say, we were pleased with the outcome!

I was wondering if it would be possible to purchase the magnet holder on textured cardstock, tissue, ribbon and envelopes?

      Hello Heather, firstly, we are completely flattered that you appreciate our packaging. There was much debate over whether the extra packaging, ie. attention to details, was too much and that brides wouldn’t be willing to pay a slight premium a better product. Thankfully we went with our gut feeling! As per your question, we understand that you’d selected a design from another company, at least, that’s our understanding, and that you’d like to purchase just our packaging from us. Heather, this wouldn’t present a huge problem; however we do have a full staff of designers and I’m sure we can re-create a design that you like, this way you get our packaging and your design- so a WIN-WIN! After checkout you’ll be re-directed to a page where you can customize your magnet and upload engagement photo, etc. We can also send you a sample for your confirmation before proceeding with the large order!

    I ordered a sample and can’t wait to receive it. My husband and I (yes we are already married) plan to renew our wedding vows on our 15th wedding anniversary because we didn’t get to have a wedding the first time around! I’m super excited about the possibility that you can customize save the date magnets for us. I did want to know if there was any way we could get fully customized. There are a ton of beautiful options however I can’t ever find one for a vow renewal or anything like that.     Sorry it took me so long to get back. That is why I wanted to speak to someone before 11:30am on Wednesday, but maybe we can get this thing resolved today. I apologize for the inconvenience, its just that my best friend used this company for her save the dates and they turned out perfect and she had no problems, but when she saw these proofs she also thought they were very distorted so that was what worried me. I did not want to pay all this money and then get the large order in the mail and have them all distorted, I hope you both understand this. I am going to ask if you can send me another proof, this time with the same colors and fonts but with Jason more in the photo, in other words, to keep the beautiful background and boots but to have us more centered. It doesn’t have to be the exact original I sent you, but I just want to see if I would like the last proof you sent me or one with all the correct colors/fonts and a fuller picture. Then I will decide which one I am going to proceed with and hopefully I can get these things started. I feel better that you said if I get them and I do not approve I can get them changed. I hope you have understood my concerns, and thanks for being so patient with me.

As we explained over the telephone, the software program we used to send proofs, on occassion, destorts the image a bit because we’re taking your original photo and sending you another photo, which is similar to taking a photo of a photo, which as you know diminishes the quality. However, once we actually go to print with the order, there’s no need for us to manipulate the photo, so the image quality will be just the original image that you e-mailed us. This sort of image-proof-distoration tends to happen when the engagement photo used is either a low resolution file or we’re cropping tightly… Additionally Tasha, we have no problem of mailing you one free sample of the order first, this way instead of confirming a visual proof you can confirm the real-deal- your call, just let us know. We’re here to help you make your wedding as fabulous as possible- cheers!

    - We like the idea of the magnets but also wondered if it would be possible to have this done as a postcard magnet so we would not have to deal with envelopes.     I just got the free customized samples. Everything looks great. I totally do not want to be a pain, but since the pics had to be black and white the black background makes it look a little drab. What would it look like if we changed the background to a gold-ish color and did white and silver for the writing? If you can’t do it we will deal, but thought I would ask. Promise- this would be the last time we would ask for a change.

We understand since your image is black and white having the background black and white also is perhaps a little dull. I have already sent you new proofs using the color as suggested, but we also did a few more using fuchsia w/ white accents, beige with black accents and pink. Don’t worry about asking for continued changes, we don’t charge a setup fee for multiple virtual proofs: our design team will keep at it until you’re satisfied! Thanks!

    Quick response to any questions and proofs were emailed right when promised. Magnets arrived on time (I opened the box right in my lobby I was so excited). The magnets are great and exactly how I pictured them! My only sort-of issue was that the envelopes are a bit flimsy and you have to fold them carefully for them to fold straight. Everyone got their magnet intact, so they did the job.

      Hello Happy Bride, glad you’re happy and excited, that’s most important. I would like to address the issue of our envelopes, in fact, we use a heavy card stock for our envelopes, probably the heaviest in the industry. The only reason they may appear “flimsy” to you is because the fold line to close the envelope on our envelopes is less deep than what you’d probably find in the stores already prepackaged. Our envelopes are all custom made by hand, so the fold line is hand done, which means you probably would have to be slightly more careful folding than you normally would in which case you’re handling the envelopes more, thus they may feel flimsy purely out of frustration in trying to fold the line straight. That said, I have reviewed your concern with your production department and we’re looking into ways to make the fold line prominent and easier to fold. We appreciate your feedback!

      A) a champage or wine bottle with a Christmas theme, would be cool and festive and probably not as cliche as a Christmas tree:

      Generally speaking, as long as the laytout is the same and you only need us to do multiple print runs in different languages, such as Spanish, French, Italian, German, and even Asian languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian we will not charge an additional fee and you don’t need to checkout using the combo option. However, if you’re wanting, for example a wine bottle shape and heart shaped save the date magnet (i.e. two different shapes) you will need to checkout using our combo option.       That’s correct, and date magnets are really flexible, we can include any information, graphic that you like. We can also do mixed print runs without an additional charge, meaning you can purchase 50 magnets and do 25 for event A and 25 for event B.

      Hello Penny… I already replied to this inquiry via e-mail, but I’m also replying here for the general sake of informing a larger audience that may have a similar issue. Free samples shipped to the State of Texas, unfortunately the 8.25% state sales tax applies. A workaround is to just e-mail order@idomagnets.com all magnet details and we’ll do the free sample transaction manually, thus circumventing our online ordering system. Thanks!

      Hello Lindsey, firstly… I’m glad you like the save the date magnet sample; however our shapes are cut using fixed tools, so we wouldn’t be able to adjust the size of the heart for you. What we could do is make the font larger, this way the text inside the heart shows up larger?

    I just wanted to let you know we received our sample and love it!! As soon as we get our engagement pictures taken we will be placing our order with you. There were a few small changes that we would made but that can be discussed closer to the time of order. Again thank you for the sample they are amazing and look forward to placing our order with you. Our wedding is not until 11/22/2013 so we have some time, probably will be waiting for the weather to break to take our pictures.
